This is a free template to help you prepare your letter of intent for you to submit to the education department in your state or county to begin homeschooling your child or children. The letter, or notice, is a letter indicating a parent or guardian’s intent to begin a homeschool or home education program. Some states require submission of a letter of intent before you can begin homeschooling. The information you need to include in the letter will vary from state to state. Please make sure to check with the education department of your resident state to learn what your state requires you to report in the letter as well as whether or not your state requires you to submit a letter at all. The letter typically includes the name of the student you intend to homeschool as well as their grade level, birth date, the date on which you intend to start, your home address, and your phone number.
Use with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, or any other word processing application.
